With this great performance, GHAMMISH has joined the elite Sports SHS schools in Ashanti Region such as T. I AMASS and others.
The match between O.T and GHAMMISH set the stadium agog with all spectators and P.E masters watching with keen interest and excitement. It was as if that was the final match. What a match ! Both teams showed great character and resilience. But, at the end GHAMMISH won.
The final results;
BOYS DIVISION
1st T.I AMASS
2nd TEPA SHS
3rd Islamic SHS
4th GHAMMISH
5th O.T, OWASS, DWAMENA AKENTEN, Obuasi SEC TECH
GIRLS DIVISION
1st K GEE
2nd Islamic
3rd AMASS
4th KASS
5th GHAMMISH, KOSS, JAPASS
Some lessons and observations:
1. It was obvious that T. I AMASS and TEPA SHS had a better team than all the rest. Some things I observed from these two teams are that, they had physical presence with their tall and muscular body, die hard mentality, tactical and had better reach of the ball.
2. On the other hand, we overrated our team, we were too wasteful, easily lose concentration, fragile and too stylish.
3. One major thing I like about our team and the whole contingent was that, we were the movers and shakers of the championship. We always keep the stadium alive with our powerful Jama songs and the aggressive and brave attitude of the GHAMMISH masters. Any where we went, since the inception of the championship GHAMMISH left some good memories for discussion.
4. Another observation about GHAMMISH squad, which is good, is that, the team is young and basically form ones and twos. The future is bright for them. Hoping that next year, God's willing, we will be the champs.

GMSA-ASHANTI REGION CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEETING AT COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AUDITORIUM, KNUST (4-6-2016)
The theme was "GMSA Decides Who governs Ghana in the 2016 General Elections"
In one of the sessions, Mr Alhassan Issah( Imam Of GMSA Ashanti) talked on the need for a transformational leadership to propel our dear country Ghana forward. He also bemoaned poor leadership in Ghana and how almost all governments in the 4th Republic have failed in their promises to GMSA and Muslim students in general in terms of freedom of worship in the various schools in Ghana.
The highest point in the meeting was when the President of GMSA-Ashanti took up the Stage to declare The Presidential candidate GMSA will support and vote for during the Elections come November. It is also interesting to note that, GMSA at the end of the meeting postponed the declaration to October 2016 and promised to declare and vote for the Political Party that will be bold to put in place policy statements in their manifestos that benefit and manifest Muslim students rights and freedoms.
The auditorium of Engineering-KNUST was full to capacity. Almost all the SHS's in the Ashanti Region participated fully in this conference with various media houses in attendance such as Kapital Radio FM, Joy FM, UTV, Zuria FM, Metro FM & TV and others.

GHANA MUSLIM MISSION YOUTH (25-5-2016)
In marking the AU Day, two sister schools Islamic SHS and Ghana Muslim Mission SHS met today at GHAMMISH, Beposo to talk about the benefits Muslim youths will derive from joining the association(GMM Youth) and the need for these two schools to make the association a vibrant one and a rallying point for all Muslims especially the youth.
Various Speakers from the two schools talked on several issues about Islam and Muslims in general but on...e female student from ISSEC Abdallah Mariam was superb and gave all of us some food for thought. To paraphrase her (our outward beauty should match with our inner self. Wearing of beautiful hijab is not enough, it should be in consonance with good character as well). The Headmaster of GHAMMISH in his speech and in appreciation of Miss Abdallah Mariam's good delivery and confidence, admonished the congregation to help and support her to organise seminars and conferences for women empowerment and education.

GHAMMISH STAFF ON INSET (28-4-2016)
The preparation of teachers for their jobs does not end with their pre-service education at College or University. It is supposed to be a career long affair. Almost everybody within the teaching profession and beyond it accepts that there is the need for In-Service Education and Training (INSET).Inset is closely associated with the idea of continuing education or life-long education. These concepts underscore the need for all professional people to strive to acquire, or continuous basis, new ideas, skills and attitudes to enhance their competencies and productivity and to effectively cope with inevitable changes that occur in the world of work. Such continuous training and education is considered to be very vital if workers are to stay committed to their vocational ideas. In service education and training may be likened to the need to maintain a vehicle after it has been used frequently overtime. Just as a regularly used and unrepaired vehicle, a teacher who does not participate in inset long after graduating from college or university may become stale and perform at a sub-optimal capacity.
As ideas and methods change and ways of doing things change, it becomes necessary for teachers and other professionals staff to be reactivated and sensitised to the changes taking place so that they will be in the position to give of their best.
It is for these reasons and others that GHAMMISH organised INSET for the staff. Some topics treated were:
1. Preparation before teaching( Syllabus, Scheme of work and lesson plan preparation).
2. What to do/have during lesson delivery.
3. Assessment
It was a very good program and we hope that it becomes part of the school's curriculum to bring about innovations and paradigm shift in teaching and learning.
